Reviews: Yaya Marzuki (Indonesia) (2008/08/11):
"I know you love me. The question is, how much?"

This is the second Jodi Picoult's book that I read. I must say, the question asked above is the most intriguing part of the book. It kind a makes you thinking..whether loving someone means willing to do anything for that someone in any consequences?

Mercy tells the story about Jamie and Maggie, a husband and wife who truly loves each other and meant for each other. Maybe because of that love, Maggie knew when her body simply couldn't take the cancer anymore..she asked Jamie to put her out of the misery.

Jamie was convicted of a preattemted murder and was being tried for Murder in First Degree. Well, I think the plot is quite common actually..even how Jodi put the ending is too obvious. However, the way she wrote Mercy despite of the too well known plot (about euthanasia) is stil poetic and brought so many after thoughts for us the readers.

If I have to compare Mercy with The Pact and Nineteen Minutes, Mercy is written without any twists in the end of the book.

Nicole VanDivner (USA: PA) (2008/10/14):
This was a good book...not my favorite. I thought the characters were very hard to care about and the story was slow.

Cathy (USA: NY) (2010/08/16):
God but not up to par with her usual stuff. Did not like the ending!!
